Description

In order to support our team growth, Techfirm Industrial Services is seeking Bioprocess Engineers with a relevant background in Life Sciences and a passion for Biotechnology to join our talented team here in Switzerland.

Key responsibilities:

Ensure that operational activities for clinical and/or commercial manufacturing are performed on-time and within given safety and quality standards
Act as the functional lead for preparation, manufacturing execution, cleaning and changeover in the assigned area
Lead one or more defined USP areas (e.g. seed train, main cultivation or harvest) for the production of therapeutic proteins with either mammalian or microbial expression systems (Bioprocess Engineer USP)
Manage one or more defined DSP areas (e.g. capture, polishing or filling) for the purification of therapeutic proteins from mammalian sources (Bioprocess Engineer DSP)
Write and update recipes in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)
Handle GMP documentation, including SOP writing and updates in Trackwise
Open and approve deviations, and assist in troubleshooting during production
Contribute to technology transfer projects and material ordering for production
Work with large-scale bioreactors (up to 20,000 liters) and manage CIP cleaning processes
Implement process improvements related to steel bioreactors used in USP
Temporarily cover responsibilities of team members during extended leave periods

Key requirements:

Master's Degree in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, Biochemistry or related Life Science subject, or Bachelor's holder with extensive experience in pharma production
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically in GMP environments and mammalian production
Knowledge in either USP (such as bioreactors) or DSP units (such as chromatography)
Experience with automation systems (e.g., Delta V) is highly desirable
Proficiency in GMP practices and understanding of bioprocess technology
Excellent communication skills in English, good German skills are advantageous

Working conditions:
On-site working (100% preferred)
Monday to Friday work week, with potential for support outside normal working hours in case of production request
