Description
We are seeking to develop our team for our international digital services regulatory practice in Geneva, Switzerland.
The nature and direction of our practice requires a candidate who meets the following criteria.
She or he must:
be admitted to practise law in Switzerland, the UK, the US or an EU jurisdiction;
have at least 6 years of international experience in the law and policy of digital services regulation, such as data protection, digital financial services, digital health, digital identification, artificial intelligence, telecommunications and/or competition law;
have worked extensively with governments, international companies and/or international financial institutions active in the digital services sector;
have worked extensively in countries in Africa, the Arab World and Asia-Pacific;
be accustomed to working with counterparts at the level of Minister, CEO, Director General or equivalent;
be actively involved in policy development in the digital sector, such as through active participation in bar associations, policy forums, think tanks or publication of relevant articles;
hold a law degree with a high academic grade (e.g., at least a 2:1 from a UK university, or the equivalent from other countries) from a globally-recognised top-tier university or otherwise demonstrate equivalent academic ability;
have demonstrated strong leadership and initiative during his or her career;
have strong writing skills and experience, shown in publications; and
have a flawless professional standard of written and oral English, be capable of working efficiently orally and in writing in French, and be able to communicate effectively in Arabic.
The new team member will be expected to play a key role in formulating and delivering advice to private and public sector clients, as well as contributing to client development and firm administration.
The candidate should bring a vision for his or her career and its strategic fit with the firm’s development.
The candidate should be prepared to travel widely to countries in Europe, Americas, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific.
She or he should be ambitious to grow professionally, and be committed to a high degree of excellence in work. The new team member will be engaged by and report to Rory Macmillan and will be based in Geneva, Switzerland.
