Your 'day to day'

As a Flavor Engineer, you will apply flavor knowledge to coordinate PMI flavor and ingredient portfolio management, ensuring sensorial & quality equivalence as well as secured supply. You will also collaborate with external suppliers to ensure speed to market and maintain product performance. Moreover, you will support internal partners by anticipating future ingredients needs and management. Apart from these, you will support the management, training and maintenance of sensory evaluation panel.

More specifically, you will

• Apply expertise in flavor and ingredient sensorial properties to maintain PMI flavor ingredient portfolio. Qualify alternative sources of ingredients to maintain an agile supply of flavor raw materials. Partner with innovation teams to anticipate future ingredients qualification.
• Support flavor and solution  changes, ensuring sensorial properties and QMS adherence in the frame of specifications creation, release, deployment and maintenance. Properly evaluate changes that might need to be further raised to following Change Management committees.
• Coordinate and/or prepare samples/ prototypes for evaluations and submit them for appropriate analytical and sensory testing
• Collect and consolidate data. Perform statistical analysis of routine nature and interpret results for reporting. Manage sensory samples and data recording to ensure full traceability.
• Support definition and maintenance of the quality procedures and documentation for your area of responsibility

Who we are looking for

• University Degree in scientific/technical area (e.g. Chemistry, Food Technology, Engineering). Flavor design, application and sensory analysis certification.
• Meaningful experience in flavor design or application
• Good knowledge in flavor and raw material organoleptic properties, flavor design and sensory analysis
• Ability to plan effectively with a strong organizational sense
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn, coupled with passion in bringing the voice of the consumers into the design of our products
• Good knowledge of English, both oral and written
