Job Description

LGT ILS Partners is part of LGT Capital Partners and is a leading investment manager in Insurance-linked Strategies (ILS). The team consists of four Partners and over twenty Investment specialists working in our offices in Zurich and Pfaeffikon (SZ).

We are seeking a full-stack developer to join our small development team, working closely with business stakeholders. This is not a typical software development role isolated behind layers of project managers or team leads. The position involves direct collaboration with business users, refining requirements, and building impactful tools.

The primary project is a portfolio management system, consisting of:

  • A collection of .NET services integrating with various data sources;
  • A .NET back-end (Web API) running on IIS, responsible for core operations;
  • T-SQL based complex reporting and BI functionality implemented with stored procedures;
  • A React/TypeScript front-end.

The team's responsibilities include:

  • full-stack development-front-end, back-end, and database work;
  • Managing application infrastructure, including occasional Windows and IIS administration tasks;
  • Collaborating directly with business users to refine requirements and deliver impactful tools;
  • Choosing technologies, libraries, and frameworks to suit project needs.

Requirements

  • A University Degree in Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics or any other quantitative studies;
  • At least five years of experience in software development and programming, combined with a strong experience in React/TypeScript, MS SQL/T-SQL and NET/C#;
  • Strong verbal and written skills in English is a requirement, German language skills would be a plus;
  • Experience with DevExpress/DevExtreme as well as familiarity with financial, trading, or reinsurance industry would be a strong asset;
  • As a pro-active and independent person with a strong team spirit, you demonstrate a strong self-motivation to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders;
  • You thrive on solving practical, real-world problems through technology and thereby demonstrate a pragmatic approach to development while maintaining clean, maintainable solutions.
