Main Purpose
The LNG Trader is responsible for identifying, sourcing, and executing LNG trading opportunities in the global market. They will manage relationships with suppliers, customers, and counterparties, while analyzing market trends to maximize profit and manage risk.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field. A Master’s degree or CFA designation is a plus.
• Proven experience as an LNG Trader in a trading firm or energy company of at least 5 years, ideally with a in depth knowledge of the Atlantic market
• Strong analytical skills with strong knowledge in short term physical models
• Deep understanding of gas derivatives markets, including futures, options, swaps, and structured products.
• Fluent in English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute trading strategies in the LNG markets to achieve profit targets within risk parameters set.
• Work in close collaboration with the LNG analysts and strategists to identify good risk-reward opportunities in the Atlantic and Middle East region

• Contribute to risk management strategy for desk assets in collaboration with physical counterparts
• Analyze market data, economic trends, and geopolitical events to inform trading decisions.
• Monitor and manage trading positions to optimize profitability while adhering to risk limits and compliance guidelines.
• Build and maintain relationships with counterparties and market participants to facilitate trading activities.
• Stay informed about industry developments, regulatory changes, and market dynamics affecting LNG trading
• Contribute to the development and enhancement of trading models, tools, and infrastructure.

Competencies
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex market data and technical indicators.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure trading environment.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in trading platforms and financial software (e.g., ICE, Trayport).
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and compliance standards in energy trading both US and Europe
