We are looking for an Operator for our dry bulk and coal trading operations team to manage and optimize logistical processes involved in the transportation and trading of dry bulk commodities. This role requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in cargo operations, ideally with expertise in dry bulk commodities and a preference for coal trading operations. The candidate should have a solid understanding of trade contracts, Incoterms, Letters of Credit, and shipping documentation, as well as experience in optimizing loading processes, overseeing quality controls, and handling complex operations involving multiple stakeholders. You will collaborate with the trading team to adapt to rapidly shifting market conditions and ensure efficient execution of trades while identifying opportunities for operational cost savings.
Key responsibilities
Organize shipping, blending, storage, and transportation processes for cargo, ensuring smooth operations.
Coordinate issuance and delivery of shipping documentation required for the purchase/sale, export/import, and transit of cargo.
Optimize loading processes, oversee quality controls, and manage inspections to ensure adherence to contractual specifications.
Collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to manage complex operational matters related to the execution of trades.
Ensure customs formalities are completed when required.
Manage trade contracts, including Incoterms, Letters of Credit, and other shipping-related documentation.
Reflect cargo information in internal systems and conduct operational cost reviews to identify cost-saving opportunities.
Skills
Minimum 5 years of experience in cargo operations, ideally with a background in dry bulk commodities and a strong preference for coal trading operations.
Solid understanding of trade contracts, Incoterms, Letters of Credit, and shipping documentation.
Proven experience optimizing loading logistics, overseeing quality controls, and managing complex operations involving multiple stakeholders.
Prior experience in freight forwarding is an advantage.
Fluent in English
